Voltalia (EUROUZ member) formally opens a representative office in Tashkent.
On the 13th of July, 2023, Voltalia inaugurated its new office in Tashkent, which serves to develop its activities in Uzbekistan. Projects already signed in Uzbekistan include one 100 MW solar project and one 400 MW hybrid project.
Voltalia is an international player in the renewable energy sector. The Group produces and sells electricity from wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage facilities that it owns and operates. Voltalia has generating capacity in operation and under construction of more than 2.6 GW and a portfolio of projects under development representing a total capacity of 13.6 GW. The company is a service provider and supports its investor clients in renewable energy projects during all phases, from design to operation and maintenance.

1. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
1.1. EUROPE
The statement released by the EU following takes note of the Presidential elections held on July 9th, highlights shortcomings observed by OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Missions & identifies Uzbekistan as an important and valued partner of the EU, while looking forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation, preparing to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the EU and Uzbekistan in 2024.
Switzerland will finance UNDP's digital economy project in Uzbekistan.
The project aims to target 13,000 people, including young women and rural residents and seeks to equip individuals with the necessary skills, tools, and support to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavours in the digital economy.
1.2. CENTRAL ASIA & CAUCASUS
The demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh border.
The President has signed the law ratifying the agreement on demarcating the 2,356 km Uzbek-Kazakh state border. The signing of this law signifies the completion of the 19-year demarcation process.
Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan discussed issues surrounding energy and water supply.
The energy ministers of the three countries discussed the readiness of energy facilities for the autumn-winter period, mutual redundancy, capacity regulation, planned supplies of electricity between the countries, and the joint construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 in central Kyrgyzstan. Furthermore, the representatives of water management bodies reaffirmed their earlier commitments to supply water in the required volumes to each other.
1.3. RUSSIA & CHINA
Vladimir Putin has submitted a bill to ratify the agreement with Uzbekistan on customs services.
The bill has been submitted to the State Duma and involves the establishment of representative offices for the customs services of both countries. These representative offices will represent the interests of their respective customs services in matters of customs regulation, contribute to the development of customs cooperation between the two states, and participate in activities related to the implementation of international treaties in the field of customs.
1.4. NORTH & SOUTH AMERICA
The US Embassy in Uzbekistan expressed its support for President Mirziyoyev.
