EUROUZ takes part in GR and Lobbying Master Class in Almaty
EUROUZ takes part in the "GR and Lobbying in Business and Non-Profit Organizations" master class organized by member/partner The Delegation of German Economy in Central Asia (AHK Zentralasien) on July 4-5 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The event offered significant insights and networking opportunities, enhancing professional knowledge and collaboration. The event was attened by EUROUZ Tashkent Branch Shakhzodbek Makhmudov
EUROUZ members Polpharma and Adamed participated in a meeting between the President of the Polish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Uzbek Ambassador in Poland. Polish pharmaceutical companies' interest and involvement in the Uzbekistan market are steadily growing, despite some regulatory challenges that remain to be addressed. During the meeting an agreement was made to organize a study visit for the Polish delegation to Uzbekistan.
EUROUZ member Saneg to establish freight Wagon Factory in Uzbekistan.
Nymwag, in partnership with Saneg and AZC Orbis Invest, will construct a freight wagon factory in Uzbekistan's Gallaaral industrial zone. The factory will have an annual production capacity of 2,000 wagons starting from 2026. Spain to Recruit Uzbekistani Workers for Construction Sector
Spain's National Confederation of Construction Industry plans to recruit 700,000 workers for state real estate projects, engaging Uzbekistan in labor migration collaboration. Discussions between the Uzbek ambassador and the confederation president led to an agreement to create safe employment opportunities for Uzbekistan citizens in Spain.
Uzbekistan and Hungary Enhance Bilateral Relations
Uzbekistan's President met Hungary's Prime Minister during the OTS (Organization of Turkic States) summit in Azerbaijan to discuss strengthening multifaceted relations. They noted the growing strategic partnership and practical cooperation, emphasizing recent progress in trade, joint projects, and direct flights between Tashkent and Budapest. Focus was placed on accelerating cooperation in various industries and preparing new investment projects. Cultural and educational collaboration was also highlighted.
Uzbekistan and the Netherlands Discuss Comprehensive Cooperation
Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the Benelux countries met with the Director of the Europe Department of the Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They reviewed bilateral and multilateral cooperation outcomes, focusing on political dialogue, trade, investment, interparliamentary ties, and cultural exchange. Discussions also covered mutual support in UN bodies and enhanced collaboration within the EU framework.
1.2 CENTRAL ASIA & CAUCASUS
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Aim for Full Free Trade Regime
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to establish a full free trade regime to increase their mutual trade volume to $10 billion. This decision was made during the 21st meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission in Almaty. The initiative aims to replace imports from third countries, enhance industrial cooperation, and strengthen ties in transportation, energy, agriculture, and education. The agreement underscores the need for systematic efforts amid geopolitical instability to capitalize on existing trade opportunities.
1.3 RUSSIA & CHINA
Uzbekistan and China to Expand Economic and Cultural Cooperation
Uzbekistan's President held talks with China's President in Astana, expressing gratitude for China's support of Uzbekistan's reforms. They agreed on enhancing strategic partnerships, increasing trade from $14 billion to $20 billion, and accelerating cooperation in infrastructure, industrial, agricultural, and green energy sectors. The launch of Uzbekistan-China Technopark and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway were highlighted as key projects. Expanding educational and cultural exchanges, including establishing Chinese university branches in Uzbekistan, was also discussed.
Tatarstan Attracts Skilled Workers from Uzbekistan to Address Labor Shortages
Tatarstan plans to recruit Uzbekistani graduates for construction and transportation jobs to alleviate local labor shortages. A delegation visited Uzbekistan to discuss training programs, with employers responsible for further on-site training. The Russian University of Peoples' Friendship in Uzbekistan will administer Russian language exams to facilitate quicker work permits. Uzbekistan agreed to supply qualified personnel, emphasizing investment in education and internships in Tatarstan.
