EUROUZ Hosts HR Committee Meeting on Employer Branding and Labor Market Trends
EUROUZ held a meeting of the HR & Capacity Building Committee, chaired by Anna Burova. The session featured three insightful presentations, providing valuable learning opportunities for all attendees. Olesya Tsarenko from Beeline Uzbekistan presented on "The Impact of Employer Branding on Employee Recruitment and Retention", Venera Erzina from Ipotekabank (by OTP Group) discussed "Recruitment Channels for HR", and Yulia Yakovleva from Person Hunters shared her insights on "Uzbekistan's Labor Market: Dynamics and Trends". EUROUZ Board Member & General Director of EDF in Central Asia Mr. Pierre-Paul Antheunissens met with the Vice President of Siemens Energy for Turkiye and Central Asia, Mr. Maxim Zubov. During the meeting, Mr. Zubov provided an update on Siemens Energy's ongoing projects in Uzbekistan and shared insights on future development opportunities. Central Asia and Germany Reinforce Cooperation on Security and Sustainability
The Joint Declaration from the Heads of State of Central Asia and Germany emphasizes strengthening cooperation on peace, security, rule of law, and sustainable development. Key focuses include the Trans-Caspian Corridor, energy transition, environmental protection, and combating extremism. The declaration also highlights joint efforts to address climate challenges, such as glacier melting and water resource management, and commits to deepening collaboration in education, counterterrorism, and vocational training. Germany’s ongoing support for regional stability and development in Central Asia is affirmed.
Germany and Uzbekistan Strike Key Migration Accord
Germany and Uzbekistan have signed a new migration agreement during Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit to Samarkand. This deal facilitates the migration of skilled labor from Uzbekistan to Germany, particularly in sectors such as healthcare and manufacturing, while also accelerating the return of Uzbek nationals without legal residency in Germany. The agreement aims to address Germany's urgent need for skilled workers and offers streamlined procedures for repatriation.

Mirziyoyev Proposes Strategic Priorities for Central Asia-Germany Cooperation
At the "Central Asia-Germany" summit in Astana, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined six strategic priorities for cooperation. These include enhancing long-term stability, increasing investment and technological partnerships, developing the region’s mineral resources, promoting green energy initiatives, addressing climate change, and improving transport links between Central Asia and Europe.
Deutsche Bahn Collaborates with Uzbekistan to Train Railway Specialists
Deutsche Bahn has entered a partnership with Uzbekistan to train and employ Uzbek railway specialists for positions in Germany. This initiative includes professional and language training programs, led by German experts, to prepare workers for roles in railway and metro systems. The agreement aims to address Germany's workforce shortages in transportation while offering skilled job opportunities for Uzbek workers.
Uzbekistan and Albania Sign Visa-Free Agreement for Diplomats
Uzbekistan and Albania have signed an agreement establishing a visa-free regime for diplomatic passport holders. The agreement was signed by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, during a meeting in New York. Both countries aim to strengthen bilateral ties, especially in economic cooperation.
Uzbekistan and Portugal Sign Economic Partnership Agreement
