Uzbekistan and EU Commit to Expanding Economic Cooperation

Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade on X: "On October 19th of this  year, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the  Republic of Uzbekistan, conducted a meeting with Toivo

Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and EU Ambassador Toivo Klaar discussed strengthening economic cooperation between the two entities. They focused on implementing existing agreements and expanding joint initiatives in key sectors such as energy, geology, and the chemical industry. Both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing investment and trade relationships and planned a schedule of collaborative events for 2024-2025 to support these goals.

Uzbekistan and Czech Republic to Strengthen Ties

Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský met in Tashkent and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at deepening bilateral ties. The meeting included discussions to enhance collaboration, promote economic diplomacy, and address both regional and global challenges. The signed memorandum marks a significant move toward stronger diplomatic and economic relations, following prior talks at the UN. Additionally, Uzbekistan welcomed the establishment of a Czech Trade Promotion Agency office in Tashkent to boost trade between the two nations.

Key Economic Agreements signed between Uzbekistan and Germany
Uzbekistan and Germany have bolstered their partnership through a series of high-level meetings in Berlin, which included discussions led by Uzbekistan's Minister Laziz Kudratov. Key agreements were secured on financing projects for professional education, healthcare improvements, environmental protection, and water supply modernization. Collaborative plans include the modernization of various industries, training for Uzbek professionals, and support mechanisms involving major German companies and financial institutions. 

Special Representative of Uzbekistan visits Croatia
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Special Representative Abdulaziz Kamilov, visited Croatia to enhance diplomatic relations and expand political dialogue. Meetings with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković covered potential collaborations in trade, economics, energy, transportation, and labor migration, with high regard expressed for President Mirziyoyev’s initiatives. Kamilov also extended an official invitation for the Croatian Prime Minister to visit Uzbekistan in 2025. Additional talks were held with Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister and other officials to reinforce bilateral ties across diverse sectors.

1.2 CENTRAL ASIA, CAUCASUS & CIS

The President of Uzbekistan met with Head of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Intelligence Service

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met Orkhan Sultanov, the head of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Intelligence Service, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries' special services. They focused on combating security threats such as terrorism, extremism, radicalism, and cybercrime. Both leaders emphasized ongoing interagency collaboration, mutual economic support, and advancing cultural initiatives. Additionally, expanding practical partnerships to aid Afghanistan's economic stability was highlighted during their dialogue.
