  1. EUROUZ, Ahlers Logistics and Uzbek Delegation Map Growth in Central Asia

    EUROUZ, together with Ambassador Gayrat Fazilov and Trade Counsellor Bobur Rasulov, met Ahlers Logistics’ leadership team at their Antwerp headquarters to discuss regional expansion. Chairman Johan Vanderplaetse, CEO Dave Van Den Bos, shareholder Christian Leysen, and Business Unit Director Jeroen De Ryck presented the company’s strategic vision, identifying Uzbekistan as a key market. Talks emphasized how recent reforms are opening significant opportunities in logistics and trade. The dialogue underscored shared commitment to supporting Ahlers’ continued growth in Central Asia’s dynamic markets.


  2. Iteca’s 30th Exhibition Season Begins with 74K Spring Visitors, Prepares for Autumn Lineup

    Iteca Exhibitions opened its 30th anniversary season this spring, drawing over 74,000 visitors from 69 countries, 2,176 companies, 183 speakers, and 2,652 delegates, across 12 thematic exhibitions and three international conferences covering sectors such as construction, energy, healthcare, food, agriculture, and textiles. For the first time, events were co-hosted at the new CAEx Uzbekistan venue, spotlighting "New Tashkent" and "New Uzbekistan" initiatives and reinforcing Iteca’s status under UFI standards. The autumn calendar will feature eight international exhibitions and one major forum, all held at the Uzexpocentre NEC, starting with the textile-packed Global Textile Days.


  3. EUROUZ Members KPMG and Rothschild & Co Draw 15 Firms to MobiUz Privatization

    Uzbekistan concluded the first stage of the international privatization of MobiUz, the country’s state-owned mobile operator. Fifteen foreign and local firms submitted Expressions of Interest (EoIs), all of which met the eligibility criteria set by consultants Rothschild & Co and KPMG. The process now moves to the Non-Binding Offer (NBO) stage, with access to MobiUz’s financial data and analysis. The government may still admit additional investors to enhance competition.


  4. EUROUZ Member WR Logistics Begins Transporting 38-Tonne Ball Mill from France to Uzbekistan

    In a significant logistics operation, WR Logistics is managing the Out-of-Gauge transportation of a 6.65 m-diameter Premier 7100 kW ball mill—each unit weighing 38 metric tons and stretching 8.36 m in length—from France to an Uzbek mining complex. This critical cargo requires intricate route optimization, custom handling solutions, and multimodal coordination, showcasing advanced logistical capability. The arrival of this equipment will bolster Uzbekistan’s mining capacity and support broader industrial development across the region.


  5. EUROUZ Member CLAAS Explores Agri-Machinery Production in Uzbekistan

    Deputy Minister Akram Aliev and CLAAS Vice President Michael Bayer met on 14 August to discuss establishing agricultural machinery production in Uzbekistan, accompanied by UzCLAAS Agro representatives. The agenda focused on technical coordination, production infrastructure development, localisation strategies, and production volume targets due in 2026. The talks aim to bolster Uzbekistan’s industrial base, enhance technological capabilities, and forge a lasting strategic partnership with the global leader in combine harvesters and tractors.CLAAS’s presence aligns with its existing manufacturing footprint in Uzbekistan via Uz CLAAS Agro LLC.


  6. EUROUZ welcomes new member - BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce Uzbekistan

    The BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan is an international non-profit, non-commercial organization dedicated to facilitating economic cooperation, investment and trade relations between the Benelux region and Uzbekistan. The Chamber aims to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and cooperation by providing a robust platform for BeNeLux businesses to engage with Uzbek counterparts, fostering dialogue, and supporting market development in both regions.

Uzbekistan to host EU-Central Asia Economic and Investors’ Forums in November
Uzbekistan will host the next EU–Central Asia Economic and Investors’ Forums in November 2025, EU Ambassador Toivo Klaar announced during Europe Day celebrations, highlighting growing ties and President Mirziyoyev’s planned visit to Brussels to sign a landmark agreement.

Afghan and Uzbek Firms Sign $20M Trade Agreements
Afghan and Uzbek private companies signed contracts exceeding $20 million during a business forum in Kabul, strengthening cross-border commercial ties. The agreements span investment access and joint projects, while discussions also advanced on opening a regional business chamber. Bilateral trade has already tripled in 2025, with ambitions to raise volumes to $2–3 billion in the near term. Both governments will now move to finalize a Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement to secure investor confidence.

Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan to Supply 600M m³ Water to Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan will receive approximately 600 million cubic meters of irrigation water from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan over the next two weeks to offset critical shortages in its southern regions. Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev highlighted that Syr Darya inflows are running at just 30–40% of normal levels, exacerbated by prolonged high temperatures and mounting agricultural demand. This delivery responds to a shortfall exceeding one billion cubic meters, helping ensure a successful close to the August harvesting season. Coordinated cross-border management and daily monitoring of water flows are already underway to stabilize the irrigation network and sustain crop yields.

Mirziyoyev Visits Turkmenistan, bilateral trade surpassing $600M

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev deepened strategic cooperation with Turkmenistan during his working visit, as bilateral trade surpassed US $600 million since early 2025. In talks with Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Turkmenbashi, both leaders reviewed ongoing projects in energy, transport, agriculture, industry, and water management, and highlighted progress on the Shovot–Toshovuz border trade zone. They also approved a joint action plan to elevate trade volumes to US $2 billion, framing the move as a milestone in their strategic partnership.

Uzbekistan Invites Belarus to Join A-Power Plant Project
Uzbekistan’s state nuclear agency Uzatom invited Belarus to take part in its upcoming first nuclear power plant, following a visit to study Belarus’s operational experience. The two sides agreed to cooperate on large-scale plant integration, physical safety systems, spent fuel handling, and public engagement protocols. Belarus shared insights on its infrastructure setup, personnel housing, and localization strategies based on its 2,400 MW plant that supplies 40% of national electricity. The collaboration promises to accelerate Uzbekistan’s project by leveraging proven Belarusian practices.
